Details of the event

WHAT IT IS: The advanced training course in Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) for Industry 4.0 is developed through the organization of some events of which this Webinar represents the second. As for the current year, also in 2023 a series of Webinars, Workshops and a Summer School will be organized on the theme of NVH for Industry 4.0. The advanced training course in NVH for Industry 4.0 is funded by the Emilia Romagna Region.

TO WHO IS ADDRESSED: the Webinar is aimed at interested students, company employees, PhD students, sector professionals. The event will take place in Webinar mode, so all you need is a PC and a stable internet connection.

DURATION: 1.30h online

WEBINAR PROGRAM "Vibration control in automatic machines"

The extreme competitiveness in the current manufacturing industry market requires modern production plants to offer increasingly stringent performance in terms of productivity and functional flexibility, and to guarantee a high OEE.

The severe dynamics that characterize the operating conditions, which are extremely variable, to which automatic machines and machining centers are subject is notoriously a source of possible triggering of vibrations that can compromise the reliability of production plants. In fact, it is not always possible to design the machine parts in such a way as to avoid - for all operating conditions - resonance conditions.

In this webinar they will be presented three alternative approaches adopted to minimize the potentially deleterious effect of the triggering of vibrations in automatic machines and machine tools. The applications relate to real case studies conducted in collaboration with industrial partners Bucci Automations SpA (Ravenna) and Marchesini Group SpA (Bologna).

    • h 15:00 Introduction, Prof. Emiliano Mucchi - University of Ferrara
    • h 15:15 Use of highly damping filler materials in the bases of automatic machines and machining centers, Prof. Marco Troncossi - University of Bologna
    • h 15:35 Control of process parameters to avoid instability phenomena: correlation between measured vibrations and machining quality of a CNC lathe, Eng. Marco Rizzitelli - Bucci Automations SpA (Faenza, RA)
    • h 15:55 Active vibration control: optimal trajectory planning and "Input Shaping", Ing. Edoardo Idà - University of Bologna
    • h 16:15 Q&A session
